Winston’s Internet Cafe (5001 N Clark) appears to have closed it’s doors for good.  Owner Jim Stephens has not renewed his business license and a bright orange sticker from a vendor claiming equipment inside adorns the front window.

Stephens originally purchased the former Clarks on Clark space with hopes to open it as a bar, but was denied a liquor license because the Clark’s on Clark license was revoked and when that happens the City of Chicago does not allow a location to have a liquor license for one year and one day.

He then turned his attention to opening Winston’s instead, which featured everything from WiFi to board games to coffees and teas and even sandwiches and pizzas.  At one point, Winton’s was open 24 hours, but that too ended in the past year.  We’re not sure what the future holds for this space, but we hate to see another empty storefront on the south end of Andersonville’s Clark strip.
