Two new eateries are coming to the neighborhood, while a laundromat has recently shuttered it’s doors. As pictured to the right, Yanni’s Dogs, assumably a hot dog grill looks to be coming to the former Burger Stop space at 5318 N Broadway. Burger Stop opened in late 2011 and was unfortunately unremarkable according to our reviewer Christopher Balza, which likely led to its quick demise just about six months later. We hope that Yanni’s fares better in this spot, as it has turned over many times over the past few years. No word on when they plan to open.
A reader informs us that another eatery is coming to Granville, called Dak Korean Wings. While the neighborhood has no shortage of Asian cuisine, with even more restaurants on the way, Dak should bring something different to the table (pun intended) as Chicago Mag lists it as a “Korean street-food specialist.” Dak will be located in one of the vacant spaces in the building shared by Pete’s Pizza, and should open sometime this month.
Lastly, people dependent on Perfect Laundry to wash their threads were surprise to find the laundromat at 5249 N Broadway (in the strip mall between the PNC Bank and dry cleaners) had closed its doors without any notice a few weeks ago.
